Website performance
Website speed optimisation: your site is slow for a reason. Let's find it.
Inspiry Solutions profiles the full request path (server response, database queries, rendering, caching and third-party scripts), then fixes the few things actually costing you time.
We start from real-user data. No blind optimisation.
What the work looks like
The Core Web Vitals
fixes we make.
Real dataBetter sitesLasting impact
- 01
Faster LCP
Cut server response time, cache heavy queries and prioritise the hero image so the main content appears sooner.
- 02
Better INP
Trim and defer theme and third-party JavaScript so taps and clicks respond without lag.
- 03
Stable CLS
Reserve space for images, embeds and fonts so layouts stop jumping on every template.

What usually makes a website slow?
Different symptoms usually point to different parts of your stack. Here's a quick guide to what's often behind performance issues.
Find the real bottleneck
“TTFB is too high”
ServerHosting / PHP configuration
“Slow after a plugin update”
DatabaseNew query or plugin conflict
“Poor mobile INP”
Front endJavaScript / third-party scripts
“CLS on every template”
Front endImages / layout shifts
“Fast on desktop, slow on mobile”
Front endPayload too heavy
✓Clear diagnosis. Faster solutions.
Turn symptoms into action and get back to a faster, more reliable site.
Better insights
Higher performance
Illustrative example
One uncached query.
Every page load.
A related-posts query was running on every request, sorted with ORDER BY RAND() and never cached. The fix was not another optimisation plugin. It was rewriting the query and caching the result in memory.
Happier users
A fresh query every timeNo caching
SQL query, before: SELECT * FROM wp_postsWHERE post_type = 'post'AND post_status = 'publish'ORDER BY RAND()LIMIT 4;
Cached once, served from memory✓ Using cache
SQL query, after: SELECT ID FROM wp_postsWHERE post_type = 'post'AND post_status = 'publish'ORDER BY post_date DESCLIMIT 4;/* cached in object cache for 12h */
Field data
Core Web Vitals from real visitors, not laptop scores.
A perfect Lighthouse run on your laptop does not tell you what real visitors experience. We measure Core Web Vitals field data (Largest Contentful Paint, Interaction to Next Paint and Cumulative Layout Shift) plus Time to First Byte against Google's published thresholds (opens in a new tab).
LCPLargest Contentful Paint
Good ≤ 2.5s
INPInteraction to Next Paint
Good ≤ 200ms
CLSCumulative Layout Shift
Good ≤ 0.1
TTFBTime to First Byte
Good ≤ 800ms
Measured across real visitors where data is available.
Order matters
Each layer caps the one above it.
You cannot render faster than the server responds. You cannot cache your way out of a slow query. We check the database first, then the server, then work up the stack.
- 6Edge / CDNFast when the origin is fast
- 5CacheHelps a healthy request
- 4Front endRender path, JS
- 3Theme + pluginsWhere conflicts hide
- 1DatabaseCheck first: usually the bottleneck
- 2Server + PHPCheck next
We start at the bottom: fix the database and server first, because nothing above them can be faster than they are.
Why work with us
Why teams bring us in for performance.
We take a data-led, no-nonsense approach to performance. No guesswork, no unnecessary plugins, just real insights and lasting results.
Diagnose before changing
We profile the whole stack before changing anything, so we fix the right things instead of adding another plugin.
Data over assumptions →Real-user data
We care about what real visitors experience, not just what a synthetic test says. You get clear, prioritised insights.
Insights that matter →We fix the cause
We fix the problem where it lives, from hosting config to third-party scripts, and make it stick.
Lasting results →Better performance. Brighter business.

Questions
Website speed and Core Web Vitals questions.
Do you guarantee a Lighthouse score of 100?
No. We optimise for what real visitors experience, measured in field data such as Core Web Vitals, not a perfect lab score. A site can score 100 in Lighthouse and still feel slow to customers on real phones and networks.
Can you work with our existing host?
Usually, yes. Most speed problems can be fixed on your current hosting. If the host itself is the bottleneck, we'll say so, explain the options and help you move if that is the right call.
What if the site needs rebuilding to become fast?
We'll tell you early. If the theme or build fundamentally limits how fast the site can be, you will hear that before we spend time optimising around it, along with what a rebuild would involve.
How long until the numbers change?
Lab tests and real-user monitoring show the change within a day or two of deployment. Google's field data, including the Core Web Vitals report in Search Console, uses a rolling 28-day window, so it takes up to four weeks to fully reflect the fix.
Does website speed affect rankings?
Yes. Google confirms that Core Web Vitals are used by its ranking systems (opens in a new tab), and a faster site is crawled more efficiently. The bigger effect is usually on visitors: slow pages lose attention and enquiries before any ranking change shows up.
Can you improve Core Web Vitals?
Yes. Inspiry Solutions usually starts with LCP, INP and CLS: faster server responses and hero images, lighter JavaScript for quicker interactions, and reserved space so layouts stop shifting. Every fix is measured before and after.
Can you speed up a WordPress site another developer built?
Yes. Most of our performance work is on sites we did not originally build. We profile the server, database and front end first, so the fix targets the real bottleneck instead of adding another optimisation plugin.
What happens after the initial diagnosis?
You get a prioritised list of fixes, with the evidence behind each one, and a scoped quote before any work begins. You decide what goes ahead.
How much does website speed optimisation cost?
The speed diagnosis is free. Diagnosis plus fixes typically costs $400-$1,800, depending on what we find, and ongoing performance monitoring is part of the Active maintenance plan from $199 a month. Prices are in USD.
Honest advice
Sometimes performance work is the wrong purchase.
If the underlying site is poorly built or fundamentally constrained, optimising around it can become a waste of money. We'll tell you that early.
We will not
- Install another plugin and call it fixed.
- Guarantee a perfect lab score.
- Optimise around a server that cannot cope.
- Report lab scores instead of field data.
- Touch production without a staging plan.
- Transparent
